The next full moon is April 9, commonly called the Pink Moon named for the grass pink or wild ground phlox which is one of the earliest widespread flowers of the spring. Other names are the Full Sprouting Grass Moon, the Egg Moon, and -- among coastal tribes -- the Full Fish Moon, because this is when the shad came upstream to spawn. This is also the Paschal Full Moon; the first full Moon of the spring season. The first Sunday following the Paschal Moon is Easter Sunday which is observed on April 12 this year.

Gardening lore aside, here is a recipe for home-made rooting hormone:
Obtain a handful of willow twigs and cut them into 2-3 inch pieces; cover and soak in lukewarm water for 48 hours. You may soak a cutting in the solution overnight or leave it to root in the liquid. The willow potion may even be used to water an already potted-up cutting.

- Lawn Fertilization - The application of fertilizer to cover areas designated by the owner's speciications during the spring through fall seasons. Fertilizer to applied at manufacturer's specifications unless otherwise directed and noted.......Treatment on a pre-determined schedule as per contract.....
- There are many shades of green. Fertilizer can be purchased with many formula combinations which will have a direct effect on cost and condition of lawn. When applied according to manufacturers specifications coverage in not accurately calculated due to over spillage on walkways, driveways, patios, planting areas, and streets. Insects and diease can become very damaging and also be easily treated only when infestation and vioris before it becomes damaging. Its cost effective to treat lawns rather than restore them due to damage.
- Seaonal Color Plantings
- Plantings begin in mid-March with a splattering of pansys to welcome spring. Cold hardy, they provide color and atmosphere to any setting.
- Summer Flowering Annuals - plantings begin after last frost (mid-May). Please call or email us to set up an onsite consultation to determine materials and cost details....
- Perennial Planting - planting of established beds with perennials. Available mid-March through November.
- Fall Plantings - September through late October - Pansy planting to liven up fall landscapes.
- Outdoor decor - fall holiday settings (corn stalks, scarecrows, pumpkins and more
- Selective Pruning
- Only trained personal with direct guidance will either (naturally shape) selectively remove growth or prune shrubs to be maintained in area which is grown. Some plants have different needs and need attention during the season. Scheduled as per plant requirements with beds.
- Lawn Restoration
- recommended time of season - Fall. Can be done in early spring also. Ulsually involves restoration of subsoil and reseeding or sodding or barren or patchy areas of lawn and/or property.
- Gutter Cleaning
- Unlike others we schedule cleanings according to need. Depending on what trees surround your house will depend on the frequency. Shade trees all have different life cycles and shed at different times. Spring Summer Winter Fall Upon arriving we examine the entire system to determine if any components need attention. If perhaps you want to eliminate gutter cleanings you may be interested in a gutter covering product which will eliminate the problem.
