Thirty Five Years! That’s how long I’ve been doing this; Twelve Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy Five Days; Three Hundred and Six Thousand Three Hundred and I have never seen anything like this one before. When I pulled up to this little Suburbia mansion my first thought was that I had hit the Jack Pot. My second thought after conversing with them was I hit another Crack Pot. This unique client had one of the most unusual requests I had ever received in all the 35 years of me being in business. So much came out of left field so fast I couldn’t comprehend the scope of what the client was describing.

Welcome to Spring City Pennsylvania the home of farms and town houses. Most townhouses are left with very little space to do anything with. Then, to top that off; these residences are all landscaped (according to builder association codes) with an unappealing four (4) shrub planting, toss in a tad of mulch and “see ya”. When I first saw this place I thought of the Pete Seeger song “little houses” which went something like this:
This small backyard in Teaneck NJ was quite unruly, overgrown, and old when we arrived. The existing plants were planted with no rhyme or reason. None had been properly pruned or trimmed and years, some had dead branches throughout the interior growth, and some were plain dead.
This thermaled bluestone is cut like a loaf of bread, with each piece being of the same density and thickness. The sawing process requires a 2nd step of thermaling wherein a flame is applied to the surface, ensuring the stones have a non-slip and consistent surface.
It was 9-11-17 when I got a telephone call from a very unique woman regarding a woodland landscaping project. After our phone conversation, which was both informative and full of laughter; I thought to myself “this lady is one of a kind”. I always heard birds of a feather flock together so I suppose that’s why we got along so well right from the get-go.
Bergen county landscape design and build project by almost perfect landscaping of paramus new jersey, Retaining walls, terranced stone walls and garden beds in a residential setting on a sloped area.
This property located in Tenafly, N.J. entailed a complete landscape design build makeover. The entire lawn and landscaped areas were both neglected and the beds were overgrown with scraggly shrubs and ground cover growth and as such the appearance was very unsightly and not usable for family and friends.
Almost Perfect offers large and specimen tree transplanting and moving services.
One of the criteria of being a landscape designer is that you need to have the ability to visualize and design in all spaces, big and small. Smaller areas require an understanding and knowledge of plant growth, habits and needs because you have limited space and timeless growth.
Simplicity in design follows the, less is more, motto of architect Mies van der Rohe, an early advocate of simplicity in design through his influence on the Bauhaus movement and championing of the Modernist movement, which allows form to follow function, to create open spaces and a simplicity of design.
Who says shade gardening can’t be interesting? This HoHoKus residence located in northern New Jersey was just that. The front of this house had sporadic patches of ground covers which weren’t very attractive and numerous areas of bare ground. Many shade and deer resistant plants have been selected so that this install flourishes with time. Some of the material’s selected were, Ilex Steeds, Variegated and other species of boxwoods, leucothoe, and vinca, a great ground cover for dense shade gardening.
