Improving Property Value with Landscape Design | Build
This property located in Paramus, N.J. entailed a complete landscape design build makeover. All existing lawn and bed areas were in dire straits, need a thorough cleaning and weeding before we could even begin to move forward. Within some of the landscape areas were concrete and block paver stones, long neglected and serving no purpose anymore which we removed. Being mostly sun areas, there were however shade garden beds wherein the landscaping needed to incorporate plants that thrive within the full spectrum of sun to shade gardening.

PARAMUS NJ RESIDENTIAL LANDSCAPE
DESIGN BUILD FINAL OVERVIEW
There was ajuga, an excellent ground cover, which we transplanted into the new design build beds. Other plants we just removed as they were aged and unsuitable for the new plantings. The shrubs that could be kept were then pruned to restore their natural growth habits. We then regraded the back yard to allow for proper drainage away from the residence and beds and installed drainage pipe as per necessity.
We incorporated an arced walkway that seemed to flow through the landscaping to provide a better, safer, and more pleasing appearance and to enable the property owners access to their beds for cut flowers, observing wildlife such as birds, chipmunks and squirrels, and to allow access for pruning and cleaning as the seasons progress. The walkways have a small boulder border with river rock as a base for the walking path itself, their colors providing a nice contrast and facade for the beds. We utilized small 9″ cuts of 4 x 4 treated wood around the arcs of the main beds for an edging and installed a lower metal edging where the lawn and beds meet. A retaining wall bed provides an area for a focal point bed that is elevated from the lawn. Finally we sodded the entire lawn area of the property.
